[Salon] Fwd: [November Newsletter] Reflecting on 20 years of the Bill of Rights Defense Committee + Drone & Guantanamo Bay whistleblowers join Primary Sources Podcast.

All right, admittedly, I haven’t kept my dirty secret, secret, so I will openly admit; as against Bob Barr, and the Originalist legal theoreticians preceding him, who don’t need to be named again: I fully support the Bill of Rights, beginning with, and most importantly, the First Amendment, as particularly singled out as illegitimate by a former CIA officer who taught at Yale and helped found National Review, and virtually a form of treason if in dissent. So I say to those lionizing this fellow: "If this be treasonmake the most of it!”

Todd,

Last week, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Bill of Rights Defense Committee (our predecessor organization).

It was a brilliant event, kicked off by (former) Senator Russ Feingold, the only Senator to oppose the Patriot Act in 2001, followed by a conversation about the history and future of our organization with Nancy Talanian (founder), Shahid Buttar (former director), and Sue Udry (current director).

If you weren’t able to attend, you can catch the full event here.

We’re also proud to present a short video, From Outrage to Action, starring some of BORDC’s earliest activists whose passion and commitment helped to build a powerful movement to defend the Bill of Rights

Stay Loud & Stay Strong,
Sue, Chip, and Quentin
