When and if there is a discussion, it is worth pondering that while American democracy is universally regarded as decadent and in decline, with a peaceful transition of power in 2024 in doubt, other societies, like Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Canada, Ecuador, Germany, Ghana, Honduras, Iceland, Japan, Mongolia, Peru, Taiwan, and Zambia -- to name just a few -- have managed to hold elections and reform their governments pretty smoothly.
