Transparency International,
the highly respected German NGO, has just released their 2022
Corruption Index. They rank 180 countries, from the least corrupt,
Denmark, to the most corrupt, Somalia.
The 20 least corrupt
countries in the world, in descending order, are Denmark, Finland, New
Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany,
Ireland, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, Estonia, Iceland,
Uruguay, Belgium, Japan, and the United Kingdom. The top score of these
20, Denmark, is 90/100; the median score, Ireland, is 77/100; and the
low score, United Kingdom, is 73/100.
The 20 most corrupt
countries in the world, in descending order, are Zimbabwe, Eritrea,
Sudan, Congo, Guinea-Bissau, DR Congo, Chad, Comoros, Nicaragua,
Turkmeistan, Burundi, Equatorial Guinea, Haiti, North Korea, Libya,
Yemen, Venezuela, South Sudan, Syria, and Somalia. The top score of
these 20, Zimbabwe, is 23/100; the median score, Burundi, is 17/100; and
the low score, Somalia, is 12/100.
