Re: [Salon] The Rise of the Right-Wing Peacenik

Here is a counter-narrative to such whoppers that there is such a thing as a “right-wing peacenik,” as if “peacenik” means a never-ending clamor for escalating tensions against China and Iran, even if these right-wingers are willing to put aside Russia for now, to see if they will "fall into line” with the U.S. once any potential allies have been annihilated. Meaning, China, Iran, Muslims in general, and always, Palestinians in particular in line with our own ally. As if saying, “it ain’t war if we only kill colored people.” And Muslims!

There’s a remarkable online tool called: JFGI. Plug in any of the names of the so-called “right-wing peaceniks,” and any of the countries listed above, and you’ll get a more accurate picture of what they’re up to, though bear in mind some of their expressed opinions are situational.

Try it, it’s not hard. Type “Burtka," and “China," for example, and get this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/10/20/our-overdue-reckoning-with-china/

"Mr. DeSantis’s anti-Iran talk is within the normal range of Republican presidential candidates from the last two decades. Yet in concert with his record on Russia (Iran’s partner in Syria, Ukraine and beyond) and with the open question of how he views the lessons of the post-9/11 wars, a President DeSantis might reprise that old G.O.P. ditty about bombing Iran.

One could go on but I believe since 2015 Ive adequately shown that both parties love war, with the only difference being the Republicans love it a little bit more, as measured by their “Defense spending demands, with the "New Right” loving it best of all, as a search of their names with “Israel" would show, in complete solidarity with Israel’s fascist “National Conservatives."

This was the headline on Aaron Mate’s page, and it is the complete opposite for “insight” as to Trump’s “pro-war policies,” than anything to be found linked to the “Right,” or to “Conservative:”

"Trump calls out “neocon” “warmongers” — just not his own

"Donald Trump released a video calling out "neocon" US "warmongers" and appearing to acknowledge that the US was behind the 2014 Ukraine coup. A lot of what he said is accurate. But he omits his own role in the warmongering he now claims to oppose."

To paraphrase the Bible, “By their political theory, ye shall know them,” and in this, it is abundantly clear these warmongers all subscribe to the same “political theory” first articulated after WW II by CIA officers founding National Review magazine, as a precursor to the Team B analysis later provided by Conservative “Hard-liners,” in opposing what they considered CIA conclusions disagreeing with the "Hard Liners” on the USSR, both in the 1950s, and again in the 1970s-1980s. With history having shown how wrong the “Right” was, in their exaggerations of Soviet strength. As we especially saw again in Iraq in 1990-1991. That’s not to oversimplify, just to take notice that no matter the situation, the “Right” always called for increased military spending, and hair triggers on our nuclear weapons.

And that especially includes “right-wing peaceniks,” like Kevin Roberts of the always pro-war Heritage Foundation whose "trigger finger is just itching” for a war with China, as any critical reading of his statements make abundantly clear, as does what he has to say about Iran, such as this:

“Right-Wing Peacenik” hell! How stupid can people get? Don’t answer that; it's a rhetorical question, we know how stupid that can get, and always demand: Let Us be Fooled Again, to the tune of The Who!

China—not the “climate crisis”—is our greatest adversary. Thank you, , for a great conversation on what our international priorities ought to be.
