The launching of several North Korean missiles barely makes the news. It would be newsworthy if that did not happen. That is, if anyone outside Northeast Asia were paying attention. Maybe that’s as it should be. The best way to deal with an exhibitionist is to ignore him; or to say, ho-hum. That would be a mistake. Each big North Korean missile launch has been preceded by rumours that official discontent is greater than ever, and that some sort of putsch is a a matter of not whether but when. ‘When’ has lasted a very long time for the Kims. It may never come. But don’t be surprised when it does. And prepare your bunkers. |
