Houthis in Yemen warn of possible attacks on all Israel-linked vessels
Doha, Nov 19 (UNI) Yemen's rebel Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, on Sunday warned of possible attacks on all Israel-affiliated vessels and urged other states to call off their crews and avoid approaching such ships at sea.
"Due to the brutal Israeli-US aggression to which the Gaza Strip is being subjected ... the Yemeni armed forces announce that they will target all ships under the flag of the Zionist institution, vessels operated by Israeli companies and owned by Israeli entities," Houthi spokesman Yahya Saria said on air of Al Masirah broadcaster.
The spokesman also said that the movement urged all countries to recall their nationals from Israeli-operated ships, avoid transporting goods on such ships and maintain a safe distance from them at sea.
Earlier this week, a US guided-missile destroyer in the Red Sea shot down a drone launched from Yemen in the direction of the warship, a US Department of Defense spokesperson said in a statement to Sputnik. Last month, another US Navy warship shot down three cruise missiles and several drones launched by Houthi forces in Yemen.
