[Salon] Updates on the Gaza crisis

Dear friends--

In case you missed them, here are my two most recent newsletters on the Gaza crisis: This one from Saturday, and this one from yesterday.

In yesterday's newsletter I included details about an event I'll be speaking at tomorrow evening, which is live here in Washington DC and also livestreamed. Find more details here.

In Saturday's newsletter, I linked to an essay I published at Globalities on December 15, "The clocks ticking for Gaza (political and otherwise.)"

A big geopolitical clock re Gaza is ticking very loudly today in New York, where the UN Security Council will finally be voting (I hope!) on a resolution calling for an "urgent suspension of hostilities" in Gaza. It's far from perfect (suspension, not total cessation of hostilities, among other things...) But it has some valuable points. You can read the draft text of the resolution and get the UN's own regular updates on how it goes today-- even watch when the open sessions are livestreamed!-- via this page on their website.

Onward!
