Kataib Hezbollah military spokesman Jaafar al-Husseini said during an interview with Al-Mayadeen that if the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza spreads to attack others within the Axis of Resistance, the Iraqi resistance group will stand in their defense.
Speaking in relation to the Yemen front, Al-Husseini said: "Any attack on Yemen will put all calculations and considerations aside, all options will be open to us, and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq will respond." He emphasized that "the United States will see days that [it] may not forget throughout its history.”
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq is a coalition made up of several Iraqi resistance groups allied with the wider Axis of Resistance and have been targeting US bases since the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, as well as recently targeting Haifa with an advanced ballistic missile.
Al-Husseini also made comments regarding a potential full-scale war opening up between Lebanon and Israel saying: “The Iraqi resistance will be present in the Lebanese field shoulder to shoulder with the Lebanese people until the last breath, and we will not allow the United States or Israel to touch the Axis countries or Islamic countries."
Lebanon’s resistance group Hezbollah has been responding to Israeli attacks on southern Lebanese villages, attacking civilians and members of Hezbollah and Hamas by targeting strategic Israeli security points, such as the Meron air control base and the Dado base.
The Kataib Hezbollah spokesman also said that promising developments may emerge from Bahrain.
"The resistance in Bahrain also has a role in the Axis of Resistance, although it is unclear at the current stage; its features will become clearer in the coming years and in future confrontations." The spokesman added that members of the Resistance Axis will expand over the next decade to include nations from East Asia as well as some in the Caucasus.
On the potential of the Iraqi resistance, Al-Husseini underlined that it "has become more numerous [in numbers] in a way that the enemy cannot imagine, and only Americans might know about it, considering that they have tested [the resistance] in some areas."
He noted to the Al-Mayadeen news station that the Iraqi resistance will continue its operations against the US until all their personnel have left Iraq and its neighboring areas.
"What awaits the Americans and Israelis is huge, and the more they insist on shedding blood, the more strikes from the resistance [they will meet].”
Al-Husseini finished off the interview by saying that Palestine is for the Palestinians; that it is imperative they achieve full freedom, and that talks of Israel's existence without mention of the state of Palestine have ended.
