Three Christian churches were also damaged
Almost 400 mosques were completely or partially destroyed as a result of the actions of the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip. This data was mentioned by the media department in the enclave.
According to her, "the Israeli military has completely and partially destroyed 140 mosques, 3 Christian churches have also been damaged". The agency added that some of the architectural objects affected by the Israeli actions were built "more than 1,000 years ago." Mosques and churches in the enclave were subjected to systematic rocket attacks and bombings, with some projectiles weighing more than 4.4 tons.
The media department described such attacks on religious sites as a "blatant violation of international humanitarian law", which violates the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property of 1954. The statement called on the international community to "urgently intervene to stop the criminal attacks on mosques and churches" and then "to make efforts to rebuild".
