Connecticut Public Radio (January 17, 2024) Should the Supreme Court Disqualify Trump from the Republican Primary?
The Colorado Supreme Court barred Trump from the state's Republican primary, finding that his conduct on January 6th gave "aid and comfort" to an "insurrection" under the Disqualification Clause of the 14th Amendment. The Supreme Court will be considering Trump's challenge on February 8th. This will serve as a "moment of truth" for the three Justices appointed by President Trump. Will they ignore the "original understanding" of the Disqualification Clause and allow him to run for office?
