On Monday, France berated the conference held by Israeli officials and settlers in occupied al-Quds regarding the "resettlement" of Gaza, considering the remarks made during it to push for the establishment of colonies in the Gaza Strip and the forced displacement of its population.
A spokesperson for the French Foreign Ministry said, “We expect from the Israeli authorities a clear denunciation of these positions," poking at the genocidal sentiments that were shared and the calls to re-occupy Gaza and the West Bank by forcibly displacing Palestinians.
He reminded "Israel" of the binding measures the International Court of Justice had ordered it should comply with, namely those related to the protection of Palestinians and the restriction of all actions that constitute genocide.
He then reiterated the Palestinians' right to live safely on their land and that "Israel" legally cannot impose any conditions that jeopardize that right. The Frenchman then remarked that the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian land, must persist to exist "peacefully" alongside "Israel".
The recent "resettlement" conference in "Israel" has sparked sharp criticism from various quarters within the occupation's entity amid mounting internal divisions, most notably on the war on Gaza.
According to the Israeli newspaper Maariv, a group of 30 Knesset members and coalition ministers, including members of the ruling party, who are advocating for the "resettlement" of Gaza and are referred to as "hallucinations", strategically inflicted irreversible damage on "Israel" in the international arena yesterday, severely impacting the "legitimacy of the ongoing war."
"Dancing on their blood, just dancing on their misery. Let them go, as they are currently occupied with settling in Gaza," commented one of the family members of an Israeli captive.
"What are these hallucinators celebrating there? They are dancing in the middle of a war, amid one of the most significant disasters," suggesting that they "haven't even initiated the process of resettling hundreds of thousands of Israelis back to their settlements, yet they are already celebrating the resurgence of Israeli settlements in Gaza," as per the newspaper.
"Take Netanyahu, confine him in a sealed courtroom, hook him up to a lie detector, and inquire if there is any possibility in the world to reconstruct settlements in Gaza," Maariv added.
