WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Declaring
that she was “deeply honored to be a part of American history,” Sen.
Katie Britt announced that her kitchen would soon join the Smithsonian
Institution’s permanent collection.
“Two weeks ago,
no one had even heard of Katie Britt,” she told reporters. “Now, my
kitchen will be in the Smithsonian right next to exhibits about Custer’s
Last Stand and the Titanic. Not bad, y’all.”
Harland
Dorrinson, a Smithsonian curator, said he was “extremely grateful to
the senator for this important donation. For generations to come,
teachers will be able to show their students Katie Britt’s kitchen and
struggle to explain what happened in it.”
The
curator revealed that workers tasked with dismantling Britt’s kitchen
for shipping to the Smithsonian were “amazed” by what they found. “It’s
in mint condition,” he said
