An informed Egyptian source has denied any planned meetings between Egyptian and Israeli officials as part of the ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, stressing that communications between Egypt and Israel in this regard are limited to security delegations only.
“There is no truth to what some media outlets have circulated about planned meetings between Egyptian officials and Israelis,” Al-Qahera News cited the source as saying on Friday.
The source confirmed that Egypt is in talks with all parties with the aim of achieving a ceasefire, halting the Israeli war, and ending the suffering endured by the Palestinian people.
Earlier Friday, the Associated Press claimed that a high-level delegation Head by the Egyptian General Intelligence Service Chief Abbas Kamel would arrive in Israel to discuss the ceasefire efforts with Israeli officials.
Egypt, the source added, has repeatedly warned of the serious consequences if Israel intends to invade Palestinian Rafah."
As an Israeli invasion of Rafah seems reportedly imminent, Egypt has intensified its effort to halt it and prevent a human catastrophe.
