As introduction, here is a favorite "venture capitalist tech bro who invests AND profits from the defense industry," and favorite National Conservatives of the Quincy Institute and The American Conservative magazine, both of whom are so zealously supported by this email list (it's short): Quote from RS article below: "According to reports, Trump is eyeing Thiel pal Trae Stephens, a venture capitalist tech bro who invests AND profits from the defense industry .... for the second highest position in the Pentagon. What could go wrong??"
How do you describe such a statement if you don't want to use the word "chutzpah" every time something like this comes along? That is, when Quincy's Responsible Statecraft and The American Conservative (TAC) put such a gigantic effort into getting Thiel pal J.D. Vance, "a venture capitalist tech bro who invests AND profits from the defense industry," into an even higher position; a heartbeat away from the Presidency!
Trae Stephens bio sounds a lot like J.D. Vance's! And we know the high esteem Quincy and TAC have for J.D. Vance: Here is Stephens' bio:
Here is a bit on J.D. Vance: Quote: "Peter Thiel, the venture capitalist who introduced Vance to Silicon Valley more than a decade back and spent a record-breaking $15m to ensure he succeeded in becoming a senator in Ohio, is a co-founder of Palantir Technologies, the CIA-backed analytics firm currently playing a key role in Israel's war on Gaza. . . . "Activists say while attention has been legitimately focused on the Democratic Party's continued support for Israel as it conducts one of the most devastating wars of the 21st century, focus on the ecosystem between Trump and right-leaning venture capitalists is quickly expanding in its wake. . . . "Observers following the Israeli war on Gaza describe the prospect of right-wing venture capitalists collaborating with Christian nationalists under a Trump-led administration, many of whom see Israel as a bulwark for western civilisation, as a potent cocktail for the Middle East. "Vance portrays himself as 'anti-war', but this is completely false," a spokesperson from the Southern Ohio Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), told MEE. TAC and Quincy have been in the forefront purveying the lie that Vance is "anti-war," as can be seen with their promotion of not only Vance, but also Ramaswamy, another Thiel pal "venture capitalist tech bro who invests AND profits from the defense industry," as he was featured here in supporting Israeli genocide, and inciting wars against China and Iran (recognized by anyone who is not a complete dolt, always includes Russia, as their ally): "Supporting Israeli genocide" as do Vance, Thiel, Ramaswamy, Trump, and through this event, it would appear so does Quincy/TAC, both receiving money from another "venture capitalist tech bro who invests AND profits from the defense industry," libertarian Charles Koch, also embedded in the US MIC and Israel's with is role in their "Cognitive Operations," as described well in this
According to reports, Trump is eyeing Thiel pal Trae Stephens, a venture capitalist tech bro who invests AND profits from the defense industry .... for the second highest position in the Pentagon. What could go wrong??
The deputy secretary, a position now held by Kathleen Hicks, is the second-highest-ranking civilian in the Pentagon, with the primary responsibility of “managing the defense budget and executing the priorities of the secretary of defense.” A longtime partner at Thiel’s Founders Fund and co-founder and Executive Chairman at Anduril, a defense industry company with myriad government contracts, Stephens is an influential player at the intersection of venture capital and defense tech. To say that being in charge of the defense budget could pose a potential conflict of interest, would be an understatement. Previously, he worked for Thiel’s Palantir Technologies, which for years has received contracts from across the federal spectrum, including the Department of Defense, FBI, and Department of Homeland Security. Despite myriad controversial efforts behind ethically questionable military technologies like AI-powered military targeting, Anduril and Palantir are among defense tech’s cream of the crop thanks to VC funding, especially Thiel funding, with Palantir now reporting record profits and Anduril amassing a hefty $1.5 billion in Series F fundraising in August.
