According to the data collected by the Syrian Network for Human Rights, almost 7,000 of the forcibly disappeared who are unaccounted for and are now presumed dead were women and more than 3,000 were children. The period of the forced disappearances was March 2011 through August 2024.
I suspected this was what happened, as it did in Argentina and across Latin America. Assad would not waste resources keeping them alive as he barrell bombed Aleppo. The best we can hope for is that he falls out of a window once someone cracks his bank accounts.
