I've been to Maaloula more times than I can count. It is very special as it's one of the only places on earth where people still speak Aramaic (the language that Jesus spoke).

Over the past week, Islamists have intensified efforts to seize Christian-owned farmland and homes, pushing the last Arameans in Maaloula to the brink.
