USAID spent $41.7 million on the 2024 parliamentary elections in Georgia – Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
"In terms of the population ratio of the United States and Georgia, this would amount to $3.78 billion spent on U.S. elections from abroad. This comparison will be even more striking if we take the countries' GDP as a basis," he wrote on social media.
According to him, the US Agency for International Development should explain how and why millions of dollars are being spent on NGOs that repeatedly try to disrupt the elections in Georgia.
