[Salon] Netanyahu Aide Lobbies White House to Impose U.S. Sanctions on Israeli Anti-gov't Protest Groups - Israel News - Haaretz.com

Glick is obviously reading James Carden, TAC magazine, and the Quincy Institute, and this email list as she zeroed in on the key term for the U.S. to go to war in the so-called "Realist's" lexicon: in defense of our "national interests."

"Realists and Restrainers" don't take the US into wars to "spread democracy," but do take them into wars when our "interests" are threatened; as "interests based war." That is, such as against Canada should they continue to reject being absorbed into the US, with the same for Greenland, and Denmark, should either resist the same for Greenland, though using instruments of "Irregular War" as Conservatives demand and plan for, of which Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 fully revealed, with so many participants of that Project represented on this email list of "Realists and Restrainers," as listed below on Project 2025, and promoted here:

This event was eloquently described as:
"of Responsible Statecraft, the online foreign policy magazine of the Quincy Institute. I'm very proud to open our conference today, What a Foreign Policy for the Middle Class Looks Like, Realism and Restraint Amid Global Conflict."

Now we know what it looks like: bomb the hell out of Yemen as a provocation of Iran, and assert imperialist claims upon other countries, friend and foe alike (not criticizing that just stating as fact what we're told is policy, see with our own "lying eyes.")

This is also "What a Foreign Policy for the Middle Class Looks Like, Realism and Restraint . . . ":

'Pissed off' at Putin, Trump threatens tariffs on Russian oil if Moscow blocks Ukraine deal

My old friend Ray McGovern is regularly online touting how much Putin trusts Trump, but I have a wild suspicion that Putin too reads these threats as they're reported on in Russian news and may even remember how it was Trump and Duda who escalated the arming and kinetic operations of the Ukrainian military/paramilitaries beginning it 2017 (JFGI) as they both now boast of, notwithstanding the shoddy reporting of that since then.

Whether or not Canadians would resist US military control of their country as this article suggests at the beginning is debatable but this quote is hilarious:
Here's the money quote: "

Howard Coombs, director of the Queen’s Centre for International and Defence Policy in Kingston, Ont., agreed that a successful invasion wouldn’t take long, but he insisted it wouldn’t be particularly violent.

The U.S. military would try to limit the amount of destruction and death to prevent creating a disaffected population, he said. It’s a strategy that showed some success for the American and Canadian militaries during the war in Afghanistan, he added."

WTF!

Netanyahu Aide Lobbies White House to Impose U.S. Sanctions on Israeli Anti-gov't Protest Groups - Israel News - Haaretz.com

A public relations contractor employed by the Prime Minister's Office is attempting to persuade the Trump administration to impose sanctions on the civil-society groups that organize the protests against the prime minister. Caroline Glick bases her request on the claim that these groups are organizing a "rebellion" against Israel's democratically elected government and are undermining the United States' "national interests."

Glick is seeking the imposition of several sanctions – an entry ban to prevent employees of these organizations from entering the U.S., a freeze on their assets in the U.S. and a ban on Americans doing business with Israeli banks that don't close these organizations' bank accounts. Two sources well-versed in the issue said that Glick has told people in the Prime Minister's Office that her colleagues overseas have been "understanding" and are open to hearing the idea of imposing sanctions.

However, it isn't clear at what level within the White House this idea has so far been discussed. And no proposal on this issue has yet been placed on U.S. President Donald Trump's desk.

Glick, who was appointed to her current job in February and accompanied Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his trip to Washington that month, is considered very close to his son, Yair Netanyahu. In the past, the two cohosted a program on Radio Galey Israel. They also spread similar conspiracy theories, including the one about the Israeli "deep state."

The prime minister has embraced this conspiracy theory, with Glick's encouragement. She wrote his posts regarding the issue on X.

The sources who spoke with Haaretz said Glick has told people in the Prime Minister's Office that she "is bringing a new and uncompromising approach against the deep state."

Glick isn't the only person who advocates imposing sanctions on civil-society groups. Moshe Cohen-Eliya, an analyst and panelist for Channel 14 television, has also been pushing this issue. He has publicly urged Trump and businessman Elon Musk, to impose sanctions on these groups.

Glick responded to this report saying it was "totally wrong." The Prime Minister's Office also responded to this report, calling it "complete fake news." They added that Glick has not been in contact with anyone in the White House or anywhere else about imposing sanctions on Israeli citizens or civilian entities.
