Jewish settlers recruited as spies for Iran have provided Iranian Intelligence with a “treasure trove” of classified documents related to Israel’s nuclear facilities. The espionage represents the biggest and most serious document heist in Israel’s history and could have profound effect on relations between the two regional rivals. Iranian officials now have reliable information regarding the precise location of Israel’s critical nuclear facilities which Iran has threatened to destroy if Israel launches air strikes on Iran. This explosive development has decisively shifted the balance of power in the Middle East, and given the upper hand to Tehran.
On Monday, “a social media account closely linked to Iran’s armed forces also posted a message in Hebrew shortly after the announcement, stating: “We know all your secrets now.” The post appeared to signal a coordinated effort to amplify Tehran’s claims and increase psychological pressure on Israeli officials. The surprise revelation (which appeared in Iran’s state media on Monday) has put the Netanyahu government on its back foot leaving no doubt that a preemptive attack on Iran by Israel could result in the subsequent annihilation of the Jewish state. This is from an article at Press TV:
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) says the country will hit Israel’s secret nuclear facilities if the regime carries out any act of aggression against the Islamic Republic.... The SNSC said the complete Israeli target list is on the table of the Armed Forces, and that the regime’s clandestine nuclear facilities will be targeted if it carries out any act of aggression.
Pointing to the trove of secret Israeli documents Iran has recently obtained, the SNSC said access to such information and the completion of the intelligence and operational cycle have boosted the capabilities of the Iranian forces.
Today, the statement said, the Iranian forces are able to “respond immediately to any potential aggression by the Zionist regime against the country’s nuclear facilities by attacking its hidden nuclear facilities.” Press TV
Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib said that the extraordinary “intel coup” was carried out inside Israel with the “the assistance of informants on the ground and transported to Iran under strict secrecy.” The espionage was executed right “under the nose of the Mossad’ and constitutes the biggest intel breach in the nation’s history. The blowback from Israel’s intel miscue could dramatically impact its impending war plans as well as its ongoing rampage in Gaza. Here’s more from Press TV:
The operation involved recruiting several Israeli settlers and resulted in the acquisition of thousands of documents, images, and videos concerning Israeli nuclear projects and facilities, including the Negev Nuclear Research Center (Dimona) and other critical sites.
The revelation comes less than three weeks after Israeli regime authorities announced the arrest of two men on suspicion of committing so-called “security crimes” on behalf of Iran.
According to a joint statement issued on May 20 by Israeli police and the Shin Bet agency, Roy Mizrahi and Almog Atias, two 25-year-old men from Nesher, were detained in late April on suspicion of conducting intelligence-gathering missions for Iran.
It remains unclear what specific actions they took or whether they were directly involved in the recent document transfer operation, as the Israeli regime is withholding details of the case, including its objectives and methods, citing security reasons.
A more substantial understanding of the involvement of Israeli settlers in espionage activities for Iran is provided by a February article by Yossi Melman in The Economist, titled “Why are so many Israeli Jews spying for Iran?” The article highlights an unprecedented rise in Israeli settlers spying for Tehran.
Citing the Shin Bet, the article states that 39 Israelis were arrested in 2024 on suspicion of spying for Iran – just the tip of the iceberg compared to the hundreds reportedly recruited since late 2022, according to an Israeli internal security official.
These individuals were reportedly recruited through social media platforms or during travel, and come from diverse backgrounds: Jewish and Arab, religious and secular, young and old, male and female.
The article notes that the Israeli regime has long prided itself on strong counter-espionage capabilities and cohesion, which historically limited Arab states’ success in recruiting Israeli settlers during wartime. However, the situation appears to be shifting now.
Many interpret this surge in anti-regime operations as a symptom of an accelerated implosion within Israeli settler society, a fragmentation of settler-colonial identity and a growing distrust in the occupying regime amid the ongoing genocidal war on Gaza.
“We need to deter others from collaborating with our worst enemies, before it turns into a national pandemic,” Melman quoted a former Shin Bet official….. Press TV
The epidemic of spying is symptomatic of a country that is an advanced state of moral collapse brought on by generations of racist ideology that has destroyed the moral fabric of the society at large. It is easy to betray a country that extols the righteousness of starving children to death while well-fed Zionists claim to face unprecedented persecution. In fact, we’re surprised that more Israelis haven’t sold-out their country already.
(Note—Israel secretly launched its nuclear program in 1952 with crucial technological support from France and the United States — the same nations that have been most vocal in criticizing Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities….
The
first whistleblower to expose the regime’s hidden arsenal was Mordechai
Vanunu in 1986. Two years later, he was convicted of treason and
sentenced to 18 years in prison — In December 2013, former Knesset
member Avraham Burg also broke the silence, openly admitting that Israel
possesses both nuclear and chemical weapons.)
Here’s more from Press TV:
In recent months, Israel has dramatically ramped up its rhetoric, threatening to target Iran’s nuclear sites — facilities that are peaceful by nature and under strict supervision by the UN nuclear agency.
Now, with Iran’s acquisition of secret documents related to Israel’s clandestine nuclear weapons program, the regime finds itself exposed and vulnerable — its long-guarded secrets laid bare and its future made uncertain. Press TV
This story is still unfolding, so we can’t be certain what impact it will have of the US-Iran talks (that are scheduled to resume on Sunday) or on Israel’s plan to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites. What we have noticed, however, is that articles in the MSM invariably omit the fact that Israeli Jews were recruited to carry out the espionage. Many of the articles suggest that Iran used cyber-espionage to steal the documents which is simply untrue. The objective (of these omissions) appears to be to downplay the involvement of Israeli settlers in the betrayal of their own country which implies there is a sickness at the heart of the state itself, a sickness called Zionism.
Naturally, the media does not want to draw attention to that.
