History tells us that while all flourishing civilizations look similar, each failing civilization degenerates in a distinctive way. Today, we see unmistakable signs that the West is on an accelerating downward trajectory. Were we to hit bottom, we'd be the
first to do so in a state of buffoonery that borders on the hilarious - in a macabre sort of way. Indeed, major Western nations are acting as if in a competition to establish oneself as the most cartoonish. The United States has the clear lead thanks to the
nonpareil performance of Donald Trump with his crew of wackos and numbskulls. However, we should not rule out the Europeans. Frustrated at having been surpassed by America in multiple fields of endeavor, they are taking this challenge to heart. Indeed, recent
incidents suggest that they may give the USA a run for its money.
