[Salon] Why hasn't there been another nuclear holocaust since Japan?

Hi all - we have a truly thought provoking symposium on RS today to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombings. Does the fact that it has been 80 years and still no nuclear war mean that 'deterrence works'? We asked 17 scholars, historians, activists and journalists for their opinion and not surprisingly, they are not all in agreement. Please read and share if you are so inclined!
