The pilot project to test ultra-fast 10G wired broadband internet has been launched in Astana. An agreement to launch the 10G internet pilot project was signed between the Astana city administration and Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan in June.
According to Astana authorities, the service can transfer data at speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second, enough to support 8K video streaming and cloud gaming.
The project is being implemented in partnership with Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan, Beeline and Astana Innovations, with the support of the capital city administration. The venue for the demonstration was provided by ForteBank.
At the presentation, attendees were able to personally test the connection speed. Internet speed tests showed download and upload rates of up to 9,490 megabits per second.
«The launch of 10G in Astana is a strategic step toward developing next-generation digital infrastructure. It is important for us that innovations quickly move from testing to practical application and bring tangible benefits to residents and businesses,» said Gizat Amirgali, chairman of the management board of Astana Innovations.
The pilot project is open to everyone until Sept. 19, 2025. The internet can be tested at Forte’s co-working space.
