On 11 November 1975 the democratically-elected Whitlam Labor Government of Australia was unilaterally removed by an unelected and anti-democratic Governor- General of Australia in what has been described as a US- and UK-backed Coup that utterly violated the fundamental principle of parliamentary democracy that a country is ruled by a government having the support of the majority of democratically-elected representatives in the Parliament. US lackey Mainstream Australia ignores this dangerous subversion of democracy.
The Whitlam Labor Government was elected in 1972 after 23 years of conservative rule by the Coalition composed of the Liberal Party and the National Party (formerly the Country Party) (1949-1972). Liberal leader Sir Robert Menzies was PM of Australia from 1949 to 1966. Neo-fascist Menzies was notorious for praising Nazi Germany before WW2 and for enabling pig iron to be exported to Japan as it was committing genocide in China (there were 35-40 million Chinese deaths from violence and deprivation under Japanese Occupation, 1937-1945) – he was subsequently referred to as “Pig Iron Bob”. UK and US lackey Menzies involved Australia in (1) the Korean War ( 5 million dead in the 1950-1953 Korean Genocide, 1 million excess deaths from deprivation , 28% of the North Korean population killed, and no buildings left standing), (2) the Malaya Emergency (1.0 million excess deaths, 1950-1960) and Confrontation with Indonesia (1965), and (3) the Vietnam War (50,000 US deaths and 5 million Vietnamese deaths, 1962-1975). Warmonger and fervent British Imperialist, Menzies did not serve in WW1 but instead attended the University of Melbourne, and in 1964 he introduced conscription of 20 year olds for the Vietnam War. Under Menzies Australians were involved in the US-backed Laos Coup (1960), Islamist insurgency in Indonesia (1960-1965) and the bloody 1965 Indonesian Coup (1 million killed and 30 million Indonesian avoidable deaths from deprivation in 35 years of corrupt military dictatorship) [1]. Menzies supported war, British imperialism, the White Australia Policy, non-citizenship of Indigenous Australians, racism, neo-Nazi Apartheid, and genocidally racist Apartheid Israel (indeed there is a Menzies Forest in neo-Nazi Apartheid Israel on ethnically cleansed Palestinian land).
The Whitlam Labor Government was elected in 1972 and then again in 1974 before being removed in the UK- and US-backed Coup on Remembrance Day, 11 November 1975. The achievements of the short-lived Whitlam Government were enormous, long-lasting and are summarized in the following Letter individually addressed by me to Mainstream Australian media in the extremely faint hope of publication:
Thursday 13 November 2025 Letter: “The progressive Whitlam Labor Government was removed in a UK- and US-backed Coup on 11/11/1975 (John Pilger). Remember the huge achievements of the short-lived Whitlam Government: (1) conscription ended, (2) involvement in the Vietnam War ended with Australian forces withdrawn, (3) recognition of China, (4) criminalization of racial discrimination, (5) land rights for Indigenous Australians (already recognized as voting citizens by the 1967 Referendum), (6) Medibank and universal health care, (7) equitable pay and working conditions for women, (8) Single Mother’s Benefit (allowing them to keep their babies), (9) Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), (10) contraceptive pill on the PBS, (11) Family Law Act, Family Court and no-fault divorce, (12) denounced Apartheid in South Africa, (13) excluded race-based South African sporting teams from Australia, (14) ratified numerous International Conventions on human rights (for women, stateless, refugees), (15) ratified numerous ILO Conventions on working conditions, (16) abolished the death penalty, and (17) abolished university fees (reversed by fervently pro-US and pro-Apartheid Israel, Labor PM Bob Hawke – there are 2 Hawke Forests in largely ethnically-cleansed Apartheid Israel). To this list one could also add the following: (18) welfare payment for homeless people, (19) the Postmaster-General’s Department replaced by Telecom and Australia Post, (20) the Australian Legal Office and Australian Law Reform Commission established, (21) needs-based funding for schools advised by the Karmel Report, (22) 25 per cent cut in tariffs , (23) Trade Practices Act, (24) a predecessor of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission established, (25) Australian Assistance Plan to fund regional councils and employment projects, (26) the National Sewerage Program, (27) voting age reduced to 18, (28) the Northern Territory and Australian Capital Territory given Senate representation, (29) “Advance Australia Fair” replaced “God Save the Queen” as the national anthem, (30) The Royal Style and Titles Act 1973 deleted the reference to the Queen as “Defender of the Faith”, (31) the Order of Australia and like honours replaced the British Honours system, (32) cultural advances included the National Gallery of Australia, the Australia Council for the Arts, the Australian Heritage Commission, FM radio, radio 2JJ for younger audiences, multicultural radio services , community radio stations, the National Gallery of Australia, the Australia Council for the Arts, the Australian Heritage Commission, and the Australian Film and Television School, (33) smartening of Labor’s policy platform, and (34) independence for Papua New Guinea (with Indigenous Gurindji land rights at home) [2-4].
The neo-fascist conservatives somehow believed they had a “right to rule” and backed by the “Yellow Press of Racist White Australia” ferociously attacked the Whitlam Labor Government at every turn with confected scandals. The 2 most notable asserted “scandals” (both with an ugly racist and anti-Asian tone) were the “Juni Morosi Affair” (she was married, a mother and the intellectual Asian assistant of Deputy Prime Minister Dr Jim Cairns) and the “Khemlani loans affair” (involving Pakistani banker Tirath Khemlani and proposed loans for a nation-building gas pipeline from North West to South East Australia). The implicit racist premise was how dare a beautiful Asian woman or a Muslim Pakistani banker have anything to do with the government of White Australia (today these things would be unexceptional). The Whitlam Labor Government had to win a second election in 1974 but the neo-fascist Coalition backed by the “Yellow Press of White Australia” was determined to bring down the government and finally succeeded in the UK- and US-backed Coup on 11 November 1975.
The 11 November 1975 Dismissals of the democratically-elected Whitlam Labor Government of Australia.
The Whitlam Government attracted the hatred of the US CIA and thence of the UK MI6 and of US lackey Australian Intelligence principally over (1) its objection to Australian Intelligence involvement in the US-backed 1973 Chile Coup and (2) its desire for transparency and greater Australian control over the CIA Pine Gap electronic spying base in Central Australia that is crucially involved today in US nuclear terrorism and the targeting of US missile attacks (e.g. on Gaza, Yemen, Lebanon, Iran, Syria etc; for detailed analyses of what is known about this this malignant foreign interference see [5-13]).
Labor had a majority in the democratically-elected House of Representatives. However the Coalition grossly violated convention and replaced a dead Labor Senator with a conservative independent rather than with a Labor person. After gaining a majority in the Senate through such means the Coalition Opposition was able to defer voting on Supply and thus create a government crisis (public servants could not be paid).
The “US asset” Governor-General Sir John Kerr then secretly and improperly took advice from the Attorney General Sir Garfield Barwick, High Court Justice (and later Chief Justice) Sir Anthony Mason, the Royal Family and probably Coalition politicians and others yet to be revealed about using his “reserve powers” as Representative of the Head of State, the Queen, to dismiss the democratically-elected Whitlam Government. Kerr improperly and dishonestly kept these machinations secret from PM Whitlam and the Labor Government. The Opposition kept up the crisis but it now appears (50 years later) that some Coalition Senators were wavering and prepared to allow Supply (shades of the recently concluded US Supply crisis). Kerr was worried that if PM Whitlam became aware of the plot he might strike first and dismiss Kerr himself. Leader of the Opposition Malcolm Fraser was pushing for a general election because polls indicated a big Coalition victory after 3 years of intense propaganda from conservatives and the “Yellow Press of Racist White Australia”. PM Whitlam favoured a “half Senate election”.
On 11 November 1975 there were 2 Dismissals. Leader of the Opposition Malcolm Fraser was invited to the Governor General’s’ residence (Government House) and both he and his car were hidden. PM Whitlam was likewise invited but had no idea of what was afoot, was taken in to see the Governor General, and was Dismissed. Kerr then saw Fraser and appointed him the new PM on the basis that Parliament would be dissolved and new elections held. The Labor MPs were kept in the dark but as soon as they heard the news of this First Dismissal they moved and passed “no confidence” in the Kerr-appointed PM Fraser. However when the Speaker of the House of Representatives sought to see the Governor General he refused to see him.
Professor Jenny Hocking (who had assiduously sought key documents relating to the Coup, many still secret): “Whitlam left Government House unaware that the leader of the Opposition, Malcolm Fraser, was waiting in an anteroom at the other end of the corridor, emerging immediately after his departure to be sworn in as prime minister. Whitlam only found out from journalists the following day that by the time he left Yarralumla, Fraser was already prime minister. Nor did Whitlam know that Fraser and Kerr had agreed earlier that morning on the four conditions [including granting Supply] by which Kerr would dismiss Whitlam and appoint Fraser as prime minister. Whitlam’s actions following the Dismissal took place in that fog of constructed secrecy, confusion, and deception… Two claimants to government now fought for the confidence of the House of Representatives – the elected majority led by Whitlam and the appointed minority government led by Fraser. At 3pm, Whitlam moved a simple “want of confidence” motion in “the prime minister” Fraser, which Fraser lost by 10 votes. That same motion affirmed the confidence of the House in Whitlam and, with supply now passed, called on the Speaker to advise the governor-general to call on the member for Werriwa, Gough Whitlam, “to form a government”. The House then adjourned at 3.15pm to allow the speaker, Gordon Scholes, to inform the governor-general of its motion on the formation of government. It was set to reconvene at 5.30pm. Since supply had been passed by the Senate one hour earlier, Whitlam expected to be back in office as prime minister later that afternoon…However, in an extraordinary series of events in which conventions were torn up like confetti, Fraser refused to resign as prime minister despite the motion of no-confidence against him, and Kerr refused either to acknowledge the motion of the House or to receive the speaker who would deliver it to him… This was Kerr’s Second Dismissal, the dismissal of the Parliament itself. It was also a second Dismissal of Whitlam, who was entitled to resume the office of prime minister having the confidence of the House of Representatives and with supply having already been granted. Instead, Fraser remained in office as prime minister and Kerr dissolved the Parliament with a live motion of no-confidence by the House of Representatives before it, and with supply no longer blocked” [14].
Extraordinary lying and censorship and self-censorship over the UK- and US-backed 1975 Coup in Zionist America-, Zionist UK-, Apartheid Israel- and Zionist-perverted Australia.
The 1975 Dismissal was a major event in Australian political history. It has been subject to intense investigative scrutiny by truth-telling journalists (notably by the late and great John Pilger and by Professor Jenny Hocking who determinedly fought for the release of key documents relating to the involvement of the Royal Family, although after half a century many documents still remain secret in National Archives of Australia (egregious lying by omission) [5-14]. Lying by omission is far, far worse than repugnant lying by commission because the latter at least permits public refutation and public debate. However Mainstream Australian journalist, politician , academic and commentariat presstitutes ignore such dedicated research and the seriousness of the democracy-violating crime.

Tuesday 11 November 2025 Letter: “Australia marks the 50th anniversary of the 11/11/1975 anti-democracy Dismissal of the short-lived but progressive Whitlam Labor Government that outstanding expatriate Australian journalist John Pilger described as “The British-American coup that ended Australian independence”. Totally or largely missing from mendacious Mainstream media coverage are the following: (1) The Senate that critically deferred Supply is grossly unrepresentative (PM Paul Keating: “unrepresentative swill”). (2) Governor-General Kerr’s pathological dishonesty. (3) The role of the US and UK (although the determined Professor Jenny Hocking has revealed the complicity of the Royal Household). (4) Led by US “asset” Bob Hawke, Labor’s adoption of “all the way with the USA” as the key message of the Dismissal. (5) Australians were involved in 8 US-backed coups, namely Laos (1960), Indonesia (1965), Cambodia (1970), Chile (1973), Australia (1975), Fiji (1987), Fiji (2000), and Australia (2010) with US- and Australia-backed Apartheid Israel involved in the last 3. (1). The Australian Senate (that withheld Supply from the democratically-elected government in the 1975 Dismissal) has 12 Senators for each of the 6 States regardless of population size, and 2 Senators each for the Australian Capital Territory (population 0.5 million) and the Northern Territory (population 0.3 million). Thus the 2 biggest states Victoria (population 7.1 million) and New South Wales (population 8.6 million) each have 12 Senators as do Queensland (population 5.6 million), Western Australia (population 3.0 million), South Australia (population 1.9 million), and Tasmania (population 0.6 million). Hence former PM Paul Keating’s acerbic comment about the Senate: “Unrepresentative swill”.
(2). Governor General Kerr’s conduct was deceitful as well as improper [14].
(3). The role of the US and the UK in the Dismissal of the democratically-elected government has been recounted based on available information [5-13]. Through subversion or invasion the US has removed numerous governments, many of them democratically elected. The US has invaded 72 countries (52 since World War 2), has committed 469 invasions from 1798 onwards, committed 251 invasions since 1991, invaded or otherwise had a military presence in all but 3 countries, and has 800 military bases in over 70 countries. Indeed there are only 3 countries that have not had US forces on their territory [1, 16-36].
(4).Trade union boss and “US asset” Bob Hawke successfully prevented mass public protests over the Dismissal.

Monday 10 November 2025 Letter: “Australia is marking the 50th anniversary of the US- and UK-backed Dismissal of the democratically-elected Whitlam Labor Government (11/11/1975) that outstanding truth-telling Australian journalist John Pilger described as “The British-American coup that ended Australian independence”. The key issue is one-person-one-vote democracy (still grossly violated in the Australian Senate and white-washed after the 1967 Referendum that recognized Indigenous Australians as voting citizens). A number of expert analysts have adduced evidence for the involvement of the US and UK in the 1975 Coup that removed the democratically-elected Whitlam Labor Government [5-13]. (5). Gazan deaths from violence and deprivation over 2 years totalled 875,000 this including 175,000 violent deaths, and 700,000 indirect deaths from imposed deprivation. From data published in the leading medical journal The Lancet, 175,000 Gazans had been killed violently after 2 years of the Gaza Genocide. It was “conservatively” estimated by epidemiologists that deaths from deprivation were 4 times the deaths from violence i.e. 4 x 175,000 = 700,000. Based on the relative proportions in deaths reported by Gaza health officials, the 875,000 Gaza deaths were estimated to include about 325,000 children, 207,000 women and 342,000 men. However these estimates are conservative because they do not consider the extreme vulnerability to deprivation of under-5 year old infants (in impoverished countries 70% of avoidable deaths from deprivation are under-5 year old infants) [1, 50, 51].

Friday 8 November 2025 Letter: “Professor Joseph Camilleri: “In Australia, secretive and remote institutions armed with increasingly restrictive laws are seriously eroding civic freedoms”. 2 decades ago the ABC permitted me 3 hard-hitting nation-wide broadcasts and then turned off the switch – it hasn’t mentioned me since. The author of a thousand typically huge and exhaustively referenced humanitarian articles and 10 huge books, I have no effective free speech in Australia except for extremely rare articles or Letters to the Editor. Since 7 October 2023 I individually addressed thousands of science-informed Letters to editors about the Gaza Genocide with a success rate of 0.1%. However in August 2025 the eminent and humane “Pearls and Irritations” wonderfully published 10 of my Letters in a row but since 6/9/2025 zero. All 5 of my detailed and shocking Submissions to ICAC languish. Nevertheless I have good editors overseas and “History of Civil Liberties in Australia” praised me over free speech. It kindly commented: “As a refugee from fascist Hungary, Polya embraced and very actively exercised the freedom of speech he found in Australia (his eldest son, former Associate Professor of Biochemistry Gideon Polya, has vigorously followed the same ethical path)” [63]. In a review of my book “Free Palestine. End Apartheid Israel, Human Rights Denial, Gaza Massacre, Child Killing, Occupation and Palestinian Genocide” [64], Mark Bradbeer (author of “Aemilia Lanyer As Shakespeare’s Co-Author”) commented: “Polya is fearless of the language police. This is partly because he wears the chain-mail of Jewish heritage and having lost family in the Jewish Holocaust. This gives him cred in the absurd hierarchy of Jewishness. And he is outraged by what Israel does, supposedly in his name. Polya prefers to identify with outspoken anti-Zionist, anti-fascist, anti-racist Jewish writers of the likes of Norman Finkelstein and Antony Loewenstein, rather than the brutish fascists in the Israeli government” [65].
