The Trump Administration Strikes Again

Bill Astore  12/7/25

There is something so petty, so spiteful, so vindictive about the Trump administration. Consider the news about free admission to national parks. It used to be that MLK Jr Day and Juneteenth were free admission days. No longer. Now it’s Flag Day, which is also Trump’s birthday, as a free admission day beginning in 2026.

Personally, I commend celebrating the birth of MLK and marking his vision of a racially inclusive society; I also commend marking a day that represents the end of slavery in America. I don’t see these as Black or African-American holidays—they’re American holidays that commemorate important aspects of our history and our collective aspirations, though I know these days are thought of as “DEI” or politically correct or “woke” or whatever the dipshits (technical term) under Trump think of them as.

So, no more free admission on MLK day and Juneteenth, but you can get in for free on Trump’s birthday. Bring your flag as well and salute your dear leader. North Korea, here we come.

In 2026, National Parks will be free on Trump’s birthday. Salute your dear leader!
