Volodymyr Zelenskyy has, at last, spoke some truth at Davos. Dear Old Europe. Weak as water. Yet your labour, energy, and defence deficits are quite easily solved. Across one border lies a country with great oil and gas reserves, and the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. Across another lies a country with a population of some 88 million and the second largest army in NATO. Both countries have long regarded themselves, or part of themselves, to be European.
Across the Atlantic lies another country that no longer gives a toss. It’s time to adjust your maps.
