Photo by Rick Friedman/Corbis via Getty Images The Department of Justice’s latest release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein implicates many, many individuals – and also adds to the increasing pile of evidence suggesting ties between the infamous, well-connected pedophile and the Israeli government.
But much of the media has either remained silent on the connections, or has focused solely on other possible links. In the past week, there has been a glut of coverage suggesting Epstein may have been a Russian spy or asset. But over the course of months, barely any of the same outlets, particularly in the US, have covered Epstein’s eyebrow-raising links to Israel. Notice anything from a Google Search of “Epstein Mossad” from today?
Ehud Barak
The Epstein Files – which have still not been completely released – have countless indications of Epstein’s ties to Israel. Some of them, cheekier than others.
In a 2018 email, as Epstein sought to arrange a meeting between former Prime Minister Ehud Barak and former Qatari Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, he appeared to joke: “you should make clear that i dont work for mossad. :)”
The exchange is one of thousands of documents linking Epstein to Ehud Barak.
The former Israeli prime minister was not only in constant contact with Epstein. Barak repeatedly visited Epstein’s homes in New York and Florida. He traveled to Epstein’s island. He even asked for Epstein’s advice on writing op-eds.

Barak has previously denied attending any of Epstein’s “parties or activities involving girls and women,” and, after Epstein was arrested in 2019, announced he had “cut all ties” with him.
Up to that point, though – including after Epstein’s initial guilty plea for procuring a child for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute – Barak was frequently in communication with Epstein.
The pair exchanged various ideas for business ventures, and partnered up to invest in a security tech startup. At another point, Barak had asked Epstein to invest in another tech firm run by veterans of an Israeli weapons company.
In 2013, as Barak was departing his role as Israel’s minister of defense, Epstein encouraged him to “look at” two companies, including Palantir – the tentacular tech company that’s since aided Israel’s genocide of Palestine and helped Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) terrorize people in the United States.
Epstein suggested that Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel could place Barak on the board of the company.
Israeli Deal-Making
Drop Site News has reported extensively on Epstein’s ties to Israeli intelligence, often working alongside Barak, setting up meetings for him and pursuing various deals. This includes Epstein’s alleged roles in helping broker an Israeli security agreement with Mongolia; helping Israel build a backchannel to Russia by connecting Barak with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in attempts to remove Bashar al-Assad in Syria; helping the Israeli government sell a security and intelligence deal to Côte d’Ivoire; pursuing funding from the Swiss mega private bank Edmond de Rothschild to fund an Israeli cyberweapons empire; liaising for Benjamin Netanyahu and Barak in order to open doors for a massive offshore gas project; and more.
He even welcomed an Israeli spy to stay at his apartment for weeks at a time.

Elsewhere, Epstein appeared to serve as an intermediary between Israel and India (through communications with Indian billionaire and ally of Narendra Modi’s BJP party Anil Ambani), and Israel and the United Arab Emirates (through Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, the chief of global logistics empire DP World, and the chairman of the Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation).
In an exchange from 2011, one of Epstein’s associates describes a plot with the help of former “MI-6 and Mossad” agents to seize frozen state assets in Libya.
Mossad?
There’s also the allegation that Epstein was involved in the Israeli Mossad. In one email from a Mark Iverson, sent to a redacted recipient, Iverson describes his own alleged encounters with Epstein’s co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell – whom he claimed he was soon warned “was a spy and to stay away from her.”
“I suspect Robert, Ghislaine, and Jeffery [sic] were all Mossad agents trying to blackmail leaders in the political and financial world,” Iverson wrote in his email, referring to the duo, and Maxwell’s father, Robert.
While Iverson’s note may appear flimsy, another file seems slightly more serious. An FBI document citing contact with a Confidential Human Source (CHS), an informant, who levelled similar accusations.
Referring to Epstein’s lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, the file reads that: “Dershowitz told CHS that if he were young again, he would be holding a stun gun as an Israeli Intelligence (Mossad) agent. CHS believed Dershowitz was co-opted by Mossad and subscribed to their mission. CHS still continues to communicate occasionally for Dershowitz.”
Dershowitz has not publicly commented on the specific allegations and did not respond to my request for comment.
“CHS remembered Dershowitz tell Alex Ocasta (U.S. Attorney of Southern District of Florida at the time) that Epstein belonged to both U.S. and allied intelligence services,” the FBI document continued. “CHS shared phone calls between Dershowitz and Epstein during which he/she took notes. After these calls, Mossad would then call Dershowitz to debrief. Epstein was close to the former Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Barak (Barak) and trained as a spy under him…CHS became convinced that Epstein was a co-opted Mossad Agent.”
It added: “CHS advised Chabad is doing everything they can to co-opt the Trump presidency. Chabad is basically state-sanctioned Judaism. It is used by Putin to keep tabs on all the Russo-Jewish oligarchs. On the day Trump was elected President. Ivanka Trump (Ivanka) and Jared were at the gravesite of Rabbi Scheersom, who was the most powerful Rabbi in the Chabad network. Jared didn’t disclose his stake in Cadre, because of its ties to the Russian state (NFI). CHS believed this was/is the ‘real’ Russian collusion story. Kushner has moved a lot of Russian investment money around. The FBI should investigate Kushner’s family charities to find evidence of corruption and money laundering. Chabad routinely uses charities to launder money.”

The accusations alone prove little, especially given there is no clarity as to whether law enforcement pursued them. Epstein’s alleged involvement and coordination with the Israeli government show much more apparent links. But the American media apparently doesn’t want to broach it, treating the evidence like a conspiracy.
It is worth noting the preceding allegations of Israeli ties to the Epstein circle.
“It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Epstein had connections to the [Israeli intelligence community],” Julie K. Brown – whose reporting on Epstein led to the re-opening of investigations into, and arrests of, Epstein and Maxwell – said in 2021.
“Robert Maxwell certainly had those kinds of connections, and Epstein had a close relationship with Robert Maxwell,” she added.
In an email dated March 15, 2018, Epstein wrote a message referring to his partner-in-crime’s father, Robert, to a redacted email address. The note described the wide influence Maxwell wielded (so much so that Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, Israeli President Chaim Herzog, and Israeli intelligence officials attended his funeral).
“Robert Maxwell ‘threatened Mossad,” the email began.
The email had the subject line: “he was passed away.”
Epstein – someone who too built up an immense level of access to the halls of power in the UK, US, Russia, and Israel; a man who dealt in advice and secrets and power; whose lifestyle was marked by excess and luxury and the abuse of women and young girls – was dead the following year.
