Returning to a familiar topic, the false flag: it has been rumoured that the Iranian missile attack which recently targeted Diego Garcia was actually fired from an Israeli submarine. If that’s possible and true, it seems to have had the opposite effect in further persuading the UK and its friends that having anything to do with this war is, at best, unwise. By the same logic, it is difficult to understand why the GCC countries who are being attacked with missiles do not return fire, not against Iran, but against Israel, and then assigning blame for the attacks on Iran. Maybe that would persuade a few more Israelis that their practice of creating chaos tous azimuts isn’t much of a strategy. In the event, tomorrow is the Feast of the Annunciation. We commemorate the angel Gabriel, who is also known for looking after diplomats. May the leaders of the world once more come to see diplomacy’s necessity and value. Talleyrand is free today.
