Amidst all the mayhem, illegality, and glorification of naked violence that marks DC policymaking these days, it felt good to discover that there is a serious movement afoot internationally to find a sustainable negotiated off-ramp for this war. (Also, one that may help reinstate the legitimacy and sway of now badly battered pillars of international law like the strictures of international humanitarian law and the principles of the UN charter...)

But my lord what a week it has been...
