Starting from the end of 2025, one of the most important developments that drew attention in world politics during 2026 was the succession of the great powers to Beijing. The fact that the actors at the center of the global system such as the United States, Russia, Britain, France and Germany have direct high-level contact with China is seen as a strong sign that the international order is changing. It is certain that these visits are not ordinary diplomatic contacts. Obviously, these visits are symbolic and strategic moves that show the reshaping of the world's power centers. In particular, the fact that four of the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council soon made intensive contact with China revealed that Beijing has become one of the main centers of global diplomacy, beyond being an economic power.
For many years, the world order was largely American-centered. After the end of the Cold War, the USA had reached an unrivalled position both militarily, economically and diplomatically. China, on the other hand, was seen as an economy that grew rapidly but was more defined by the power of production and cheap labor. Beijing had an influence on the global system, but the main decision-making mechanisms of world politics were still based in Washington. But the transformation in the last two decades has put China from just being an economic giant and placing it at the center of global strategic competition.
