[Salon] Rep. Stultzman: I workshopped my bill with Israelis before introducing it to Congress

In this amazing exclusive interview today at Responsible Statecraft, reporter Austin Campbell quotes Rep. Marlin Stutzman admitting he consulted with Israeli officials before proposing a resolution that would allow for more US-Israeli cooperation and partnership. He says he had many "conversations" with Israelis before this point about how to reduce direct US aid while continuing the material relationship in other ways. In fact, before traveling to Israel, Stutzman said he contacted Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter to ask whether such a proposal was "a direction that you guys would be comfortable with us going."

He now hangs proudly Netanyahu's "thank you" letter outside his office.

This is definitely worth a read:
