[Salon] US moves to delist Syria as a 'state sponsor of terrorism

FM: John Whitbeck

So, as reported in the article at the link transmitted below, now that Syria is ruled by an unelected former leader of Al-Qaeda who until recently was the subject of a $10 million U.S. government bounty for his arrest for "terrorism", the U.S. government has decided that Syria is no longer a "state sponsor of terrorism".

Yet more evidence of the absurdity of the use and abuse by cynical governments of the quintessentially subjective, effectively meaningless but exceptionally useful word "terrorism"
(https://thefloutist.substack.com/p/terrorism-this-insidious-word and https://www.counterpunch.org/2015/12/07/terrorism-the-indefinable-word).
