IRGC hits US command center in Syria's al-Tanf, assets in Kuwait, Oman
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced a military operation against a US command center in Syria, according to a statement from its public relations office.
In response to American aggression, the IRGC Aerospace Force carried out a surprise operation against a US special operations command center in the al-Tanf area of Syria, as part of the 11th wave of Operation Nasr 2, the statement said.
In detail, as per the statement, the operation destroyed a radar system and several special ops. helicopters and killed a large number of US forces, with the strikes coming as revenge for Iranian casualties in Iranshahr the previous night.
Furthermore, the IRGC asserted, "Our full control over the Strait of Hormuz will continue as long as the American aggression continues, and we will not allow a single drop of oil or gas from the region to be exported."
IRGC targets US assets in Kuwait, Oman
In addition to the strike on the US base in Syria, the IRGC announced the 12th and 13th waves of Operation Nasr 2, which targeted US assets in Kuwait and Oman, respectively.
In a statement, the IRGC said that its forces targeted "a detection and reconnaissance radar belonging to a missile defense system and several key weapons depots," in a strike on a US base in Kuwait, in addition to "two HIMARS surface-to-surface missile launchers and a number of stored missiles belonging to this system."
Describing the operation as "an initial response to the enemy's crimes," the IRGC said the strike is in retaliation for US attacks on "civilian facilities, communications personnel, and railway infrastructure."
The IRGC also affirmed that continued "US aggression has caused a sharp decline in oil and gas production and a complete halt to exports through the Strait of Hormuz," while warning that it will "continue our retaliatory response to US aggression" under the equation of an eye for an eye.
In another statement detailing the 13th wave of Operation Nasr 2, the IRGC also announced the launch of Wave 13 of Operation Nasr 2 at dawn, targeting "the maritime surveillance radar at As Salamah Archipelago and the US air surveillance radar stationed in the Ghanam area of the Sultanate of Oman."
The Corps asserted that the retaliatory operation was carried out "as part of the continued retaliatory operations carried out by the fighters of Islam," dedicating it to the people of Iran's provinces of Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, and Sistan and Baluchestan.
Reaffirming that its response to the US aggression is ongoing, the IRGC stressed that retaliatory operations will continue with determination and reiterated that "the Strait of Hormuz remains under the control of the IRGC Navy."
Iranian military announces 11th phase of Operation Saegheh
Meanwhile, the Iranian Army (Artesh) announced early Friday the execution of the 11th phase of Operation Saegheh, targeting US centers and bases in Bahrain in response to the US aggression on Iran.
In this phase of the operation, Iran's military used "Arash" suicide drones to target a US helicopter and reconnaissance aircraft staging area, specifically P-8 aircraft, at the Al-Sakhir base in Bahrain, the statement said.
The Iranian military emphasized in its statement that "the security and independence of this homeland are a red line" and affirmed that the Army "will respond swiftly and decisively, commensurate with the enemy's hostile actions."
It also warned that "any miscalculation of the people's will, or of the capabilities of the army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, will carry a very high cost for the arrogant American enemy."
In a separate wave of attacks, Iran's military announced it had targeted US force staging areas in Kuwait using "Arash" suicide drones.
The military stressed that it would stand with full vigilance and strength against any pressure or threats, stating that "Iran, with its heroic people, will triumph over the malicious and cunning enemy."
US attacks Bushehr, Lorestan, Hormozgan
Earlier on July 17, Iranian officials reported fresh US attacks on several provinces, as military operations expanded across the country and targeted infrastructure in the south and west.
An assistant governor of Lorestan said the United States launched an attack on the city of Veysian in western Iran, while Iran's Mehr News Agency reported several explosions at Bandar Lengeh Port in the southern province of Hormozgan.
An assistant governor of Bushehr said US attacks had resumed against the southern province, and Iranian state television reported that one civilian was injured, with electrical facilities and a fuel storage tank at Iranshahr Airport damaged in the strikes. Iran's Ministry of Energy also announced that US attacks damaged power transmission lines in Bandar Abbas and surrounding villages.
The death toll from the US attack on roads and bridges serving Khomir Port in southern Iran has risen to seven people, while nine others were injured, according to Mehr News Agency, which reported that the casualties resulted from strikes targeting infrastructure linked to the port in Hormozgan province.
The latest casualties come amid an ongoing US military campaign targeting sites across Iran, including civilian infrastructure, military facilities, and strategic locations.
Iran has vowed to retaliate, with senior military officials warning that any further US aggression will be met with swift and proportional responses, and reiterating that continued escalation could affect maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global energy shipments.
