Germany backed the 2014 coup, ignored its own commitments as a guarantor of the unity government in Kiev, cut itself off from Russian gas, and then looked the other way after the U.S. destroyed Nord Stream. Germany could end its boycott of diplomacy and discuss how to repair the pan-European security architecture that it played a leading role in destroying.
