Trump talks a big game about shutting off the spigot and making Europe pay for weapons to Ukraine, but a closer look reveals that while it is not as high as peak Biden era, the US is still giving billions in arms to Ukraine each year, either directly or through financing, plus the real critical support of intelligence which is being used for deep strikes inside Russia. It's expensive, both to dwindling stockpiles and to the US taxpayer -- to the tune of an estimated $20 billion over 4 years -- but it also risks escalating the war even further.
