The brief post
transmitted below cites two particularly noteworthy sentences
from President Trump's UNGA rant yesterday.
His threat to
"annihilate" Iran and to "drive" the Iranian people "into hell
with no chance of survival and no hope of future ...
generations" can only be viewed as a threat to order the
nuclear-weapons-based genocide of a country with 90 million
people.
As to his
reference to "never giving them a chance to kill and destroy
people and countries again", it is worth noting that the
last time that Iran attacked another country otherwise than in
the context of a war, like the current one, in which it had been
attacked first was in 1798, when the Shah of Persia attacked the
neighboring city of Basra.
Even artifical
intelligence (which Trump renamed "super intelligence" during
his rant) would struggle to recall all the countries that have
been attacked by the United States since 1798.
The ‘Peacemaker’ Threatens
Annihilation Again
Trump
is exactly the sort of reckless warmonger the United
Nations was created to oppose.
The president went to the
United Nations and made more insane
threats about annihilating Iran:
“Do I annihilate the
Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving
them a chance to kill and destroy people and
countries again? Do I drive them into hell with
no chance of survival and no hope of future
greatness or generations?” Trump asked.
Trump
is a criminal aggressor waging an illegal war
against Iran. There was no cause for war, but he
chose to destroy the peace and unleash all the
evils of a new armed conflict on the entire
region. He is exactly the sort of reckless
warmonger the United Nations was created to
oppose. It is a disgrace that he was permitted to
stand in front of the General Assembly and spout
this bilge to the world.
