Toilet Treachery: Desperate to Escalate, Europe Stoops to Absurd Accusations Against Russia

Simplicius     10/22/26

As Europe’s daily warnings about an impending Russian attack on the quivering continent grow louder each day, it is the Europeans themselves that continue to posture toward war, accusing Russia of the most sensational absurdities imaginable.

European tabloids and politicians alike have essentially merged into one multi-headed hydra, spewing its excrescence of propaganda at every turn. Some of the latest claims would be difficult for even children to believe.

Take, for instance, last week’s offering that Russian “KGB” lavatory lurkers broke into the houses of Finnish MPs in order to “defecate” in their toilets as some kind of a mobster-like message. At the same time, UK news blamed Putin for costing the British taxpayers billions per year with his self-titled “Putin tax”:

The Telegraph writes with a straight face:

“Russia has been accused of sending secret agents to defecate in the lavatories of Finnish MPs in a bizarre escalation of its hybrid warfare against the West.”

So that’s what hybrid warfare looks like—and here I thought hybrid warfare was MIC-aligned corporate outlets writing schlocky brainrot to terrorize their citizens into narrative compliance with infantile absurdities. Silly me!

European elites have redirected every ounce of their waning powers into smearing their figurative feces across anything to do with Russia in direct proportion to the political crises engulfing their crumbling nations. The closer they come to the cliff, the more intensely they deflect the blame belonging solely to them.

The traitorous German Chancellor Friedrich Merz openly admitted this week that nothing matters more to him than the Russian question—not the German economy, nor German people’s wellbeing:

The BlackRock luminary clearly outlined the position of all European elites: Russia remains their primary ancestral focus, and dwarfs even China in its existential threat to the Old Order.

It is something we’ve said here for years: that despite China’s seeming global reach, it is Russia by far which maintains principal importance to the West. The ancestral links are too strong: It is Russian troops which once marched through the streets of Berlin and Paris.

More importantly, the entire idea of the European Union and Western banking order rests on several pillars. One of them is unity among members, which Russia indirectly threatens given the affinity many European states and their rising political parties have for the country.

Another is the fact that the globalist order which rules Europe requires an “Other”—i.e. a bogeyman—to scaremonger its members into compliance with the globalist mandates, which include strict monetary controls, immigration, political and military centralization, etc. Russia is the far closer and more convenient bogeyman; the more distant China is a much harder sell, since the elites secretly know China is not naturally aggressive, and painting it as an impending threat would strain credulity. The ex-Soviet Russian state is the perfect “Hannibal at the gates” scapegoat for gullible European societies.

Now Europe is running out of money and is forced to flush the little that is left down the Sunk-Cost-Fallacy toilet of Ukraine.

The war in Ukraine is draining economic systems in Europe, leading to social tension and political instability, stated Bulgarian Prime Minister Radev.

According to him, the prosperity of European citizens is being siphoned off into this war, rather than being used to address their own problems.

Paris and Milan have been burning, and as per usual it is Russia to blame. Various press outlets claim the fingerprints of Putin’s provocateurs are all over the escalations, as Italy launches investigations into Russian involvement in its own surge of violence:

Italy is investigating whether Russian agents helped fuel violent cost-of-living protests in Milan and other European cities. Officials suspect possible foreign coordination due to the scale and organization of the unrest, though no evidence has been confirmed. Source:

In reality, the revolts come down to the usual malfeasance by officials and the elites’ hatred for their own citizens.

A Russian analytical account wrote an insightfully poignant take on precisely how France’s disastrous meddling in the Ukraine war has precipitated its own economic demise:

Paris is burning, and money is flowing to Kyiv. Coincidence?

As you read this, the remnants of what is commonly called the "Fifth Republic" are still smoldering in France. On October 17th, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets – estimates range from 550,000 to 800,000. In Paris, the crowd approached the Élysée Palace within 300 meters. In Limoges, the town hall, which was 143 years old, was burned down. In Marseille, protesters broke into the town hall and toppled a statue of Marianne. More than 1,200 people were arrested, and hundreds of police officers were injured.

The trigger was the 2027 budget. The government wants to tighten its belt: freezing the indexation of pensions and salaries for civil servants, cuts, and tax increases. Given the national debt of €3.6 trillion (119% of GDP) and a deficit of 5.4% of GDP, this seems logical. However, the problem is that "tightening the belt" is being proposed to those who are already struggling to make ends meet.

Now, let's talk about Ukraine. Without the hysterics.

From 2022 to 2026, Paris has spent approximately €26-27 billion on Kyiv. On average, that's about €6 billion per year. To put it in perspective, this is about 4% of France's entire budget deficit in 2025 and less than 2% of total government spending.

The figure isn't catastrophic. But it's irritating. Because people see that the government can find billions for "European solidarity," but can't find money to index pensions. Marine Le Pen is capitalizing on this – she has already promised to stop funding Kyiv six months after coming to power, arguing simply: "France can no longer afford it."

And here's where things get interesting. Aid to Ukraine is not the cause of the crisis. It's an amplifier. The French budget was already strained long before 2022. But when energy prices soared (gas +40%, diesel and gasoline almost +30%), and at the same time, billions are being diverted from the same budget to foreign policy, people's patience snaps. As one protester put it, "The government is willing to pay for a distant war, but is forcing us to think twice before filling up our car."

What happens next? Three possibilities.

First, a prolonged crisis until the 2027 elections. Unions have already announced new actions. Every government decision will become an election argument, and Le Pen will capitalize on this.

Second, a victory for "order." Macron has imposed curfews in several cities. If the authorities resort to heavy-handed tactics, radicals will gain new supporters. This is a cycle that France has gone through many times before.

Third, a quiet withdrawal from Ukraine. If the economy continues to decline, and Macron's approval rating (already at a record low of 15%) doesn't recover, Paris may become the next, after Washington, to begin "scaling back" its support. And then, all of "European solidarity" will collapse like a house of cards.

The moral of the story?

France is caught in a trap: the elites are playing a grand geopolitical game, while the average person is looking at their grocery bill and the price at the gas station. When these two realities collide, cars start burning in the streets. And no amount of "European solidarity" will put out that fire.

To underscore the author’s points, latest figures show Le Pen surging ahead on the strength of the rioters’ disgust with the status quo:

All the while the push for war against Russia grows with the heat of the crises engulfing Europe. Each day, as they accuse Russia of some new absurdity, it is the Europeans who continue to escalate, threatening Russia’s borders directly in order to provoke a response.

This past week both Estonia and Lithuania announced they would be shifting troops to the Russian border all while Ukrainian drones violate their airspace and crash on their territories:

Kaliningrad continues to be targeted by NATO, with Sky News reporting on a military wargame in Lithuania that simulated Russia’s Kaliningrad conveniently going “rogue” and forcing NATO to intervene:

The latest issue of the Atlantic goes into detail about how the Baltic states are preparing for war against Russia:

The article covers the myriad ways the diminutive statelets are deluding themselves into David vs. Goliath syndrome. Ironically, in the piece they admit the Ukrainian war is keeping Russia busy, and that a Russia invasion would not come until after the war’s conclusion, which would free up Russian forces. If they truly believed that, then why would Europe push so feverishly for a ceasefire and end to the war? It is a contradiction we have posed here many times.

Russia is likewise taking note, with top silovik Nikolai Patrushev adding that London’s shadow hangs over these pushes:

The West’s accusations have grown wilder each day—virtually nothing is off the table for the panicked European elites to stir up fear in order to supercharge military and financial support for the dying Ukrainian state. While they were busy accusing Russian spies of “defecating” in Finnish MP’s toilets, they added claims that Russia was readying to put out mob-like hits on a litany of top European figures:

Sweden announces plans to bomb Russia directly in the event of a “Russian attack”:

The latest Call of Duty blockbuster:

In the new Call of Duty, Russia starts World War III using North Korean forces According to the plot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Moscow orchestrates a military coup in North Korea and helps the new leader launch an invasion of South Korea. The Kremlin’s goal is to …

But beneath the saber-rattling rhetoric and bravado, the European elites have quietly begun to understand the hopelessness of their situation, and that winning an escalatory spiral against Russia is crushing their own continental destiny.

As such, they are increasingly feeling the pressure to re-engage with Moscow in order to find some kind of face-saving common ground that will allow them to avoid the impending humiliating defeat.

Politico brings us the latest European initiative: the search for a strong, headline figure who possesses the necessary gravitas to publicly represent the entire continent in direct parley with Putin himself:

It starts:

BRUSSELS — There is a growing realization among European governments that they may soon need to nominate someone to face Russian leader Vladimir Putin in direct talks on a peace deal for Ukraine.

The main problem is deciding who should take on such a hazardous task.

Note the odd choice of the adjective “hazardous”. The corporate press cannot help itself from infusing every line of their schlock with subtle cues of espionage and subversion, as if the mere act of conferring with Putin in person exposes one to the mortal danger of being spiked with Novichok or polonium.

One thing the piece notes correctly is that Putin “disregards” the European Union as an authority, and rightly would refuse to deal with Ursula von der Leyen or Kaja Kallas as representatives of anything more than a phony paper-order. As such, it is a difficult task in finding someone the legalistic Russian leader would consider a legitimate authority capable of representing the European public mandate. Why should Putin confer on security guarantees with unelected frauds and posers like von der Leyen and her illegitimate underlings?

That has reignited debate in Brussels and beyond about the need for Europe to have its own direct line to the Kremlin to safeguard the region’s interests and bolster Ukraine’s ability to resist a lopsided deal.

“Much as it sticks in the craw, I do think a channel of some kind to Putin would be a good thing to have,” said David Lidington, a distinguished fellow at the Royal United Services Institute in London. “I am not optimistic that it would achieve anything much in the short term, but to have a channel which can then be used as and when an opportunity arises is not a bad thing.”

Diplomats and officials disagree on who would be the best person to represent Europe.

The article reveals Finland’s effete pinnochio Alexander Stubb as being the front-runner for the role. The dearth of serious political talent is a telling “feature” of the modern European order.

When you read between the lines, it becomes clear that all the vain posturing is merely cover for Europe to interject itself into the hoped-for negotiations that would end the Ukrainian war so that they can make sure Russia does not get its way, rather than an attempt at true reconciliation or resetting of relations with Russia.

The reality is that there will be no genuine negotiations any time soon, nor will the war end, leaving this entire song and dance as little more than the feckless delusions of the humiliated European sock-puppets.
