In my opinion Overholt is right in claiming that our regrettable economic attacks on China are a serious violation of our basic principles, but I would not find them more serious (yet) than our wars in Iraq and Vietnam. I agree with him that we have made a big mistake in killing the dispute resolution panel of the WTO and in undermining the WTO more generally and that we should attack China’s violations of WTO trading rules through the WTO. Our policies toward China are shortsighted and regrettable. Warren Warren Coats
