[Salon] Conservative Behind Trump Agenda Issues Cryptic Threat to Liberals | The New Republic

I have a very fond memory of attending a 4th of July celebration at Little Washington, VA, a decade or so ago, in which Committee for the Republic members dressed in Revolutionary War era garb marched in the parade, and afterward, Bruce Fein gave one of his memorable orations of James Madison’s words, promoting “free speech” and “Freedom of the Press.” Which I remain fully in agreement with. Which explains the shock when someone here favorably introduced me to the writings of right-wing extremist, “Traditional Conservative,” political theorist, Willmoore Kendall, celebrated as a precursor to Trumpism! Which I fully agree with. So to fully understand Trumpism, it’s necessary to look to its “roots,” or “Origins,” as Hannah Arendt’s terms. Doing so though, and revealing how that line of thought intersects Carl Schmitt’s and Leo Strauss’s, genuine fascists both, gets one in trouble from Republicans, and especially, the New Right Trumpites.

Nevertheless, and notwithstanding efforts to censor by denunciations seemingly intended to “chill”  speech revealing what these Rightists actually wrote, and said, I consider it a dereliction of duty to not defend the Constitution against the “right-wing ideas” of these “political theorists,” as they live on through their books, etc., which are promoted as necessary reading for young Conservatives, to keep these repressive ideas “alive.”

One last point; to be consistent, were Bruce Fein to do his Madison orations in front of of Kendallian Conservatives ("Thought-Control Conservatives” as they were correctly called, to distinguish them from less virulent forms), he would have to expect cat calls, and boos, from that audience. As Kendall put into written form, in denouncing and ridiculing anyone promoting free speech and a free press up until the day he died, in 1967. With his “fascist political theory” even more acclaimed today by Conservatives than during his life. When Americans still had a much more negative view of fascism, than we do today, after having been "primed” for it with almost 23 full years of “Perpetual War” since 2001.

So, here’s our good old, New Right friend Kevin Roberts, finally getting some of the negative attention a Constitutional Coup plotting fascist (in my opinion :-) deserves, in the article at bottom. “Fascist” by Mussolini’s definition!

So, to add “context" to that, this would be a "Black Day” for Traditional Conservatives, as it has “traditionally,” as a "Day That Has Lived in Infamy,” ever since that damned Declaration of Independence was declared! With all its “Right’s” and "Equality” talk that would later be used to denounce such “Traditions” dear to pre-Civil War Conservatives, such as those celebrated by Russell Kirk.

And worse, would be used as counter-arguments to those who are now celebrated as (anti-Eisenhower) "Traditional Conservatives,” led by William F. Buckley and Willmoore Kendall, in their opposition to any civil rights being allowed for minority populations. As described by his latest panegyrist: "Labeled an “absolute majoritarian,” he believed 50 percent-plus-one of the people had the right to decide matters. Fifty percent-minus-one had the duty to obey. Thus, Athens had acted rightly to put Socrates to death. Any people, he suggested, needed the ability to perpetuate its values and to sanction those undermining them. The USA also had good reason to defend itself against those, such as communists, who worked to subvert its core principles. In championing these principles, Kendall even dared defend Senator Joseph McCarthy.” . . .
"Kendall disliked rights talk. Like the authors of The Federalist, he championed the original Constitution of 1787 unamended by the Bill of Rights. . . .
"Kendall also took a dim view of equality talk. If the word means what it purports to mean—a state of being exactly the same—then, he said, “it does not and cannot exist.”

With that favorite of so many here associated with Quincy Institute and The American Conservative magazine, Kevin Roberts, continuing that Willmoore Kendall tradition, of denouncing “Liberals” as the Enemy, who must be silenced/repressed, as in the good, old McCarthy era Kendall and Buckley were so prominent in. With their promotion of Francoist fascism substituting for Mussolini’s original, as with the New Right.

It’s not just “Liberals” Roberts is coming for in Heritage’s planned coup/purge of “disloyal" (to Trump) elements in the U.S. But includes China, Iran, Palestinians, Lebanese, and Russia, their allies, and their domestic “sympathizers” who dare criticize Israeli Fascist genocide. And who oppose the even greater military spending Heritage has planned for us, as Christopher Miller, Trump’s last SecDef, promotes in Project 2025. Notwithstanding a simultaneous “InfoOp” of misdirection, by Heritage and friends in disingenuously promoting that as “Peace Through Strength.” When in fact, when the time is ripe, as 1937 wasn’t, but 1939 was, our “Enemies” will have no choice but to submit to our “Command,” or be crushed, by our “Peace Through Strength Armed Forces.”

The Supreme Court accomplished their part in that “Plan,” by holding that POTUS has no legal constraints upon themselves. So, what a trick it would be to Republicans, if Hilary Clinton was put forward as POTUS, and won. And began her own retribution campaign!

So, formerly, Independence Day, was a Black Day for "Traditional Conservatives,” as Willmoore Kendall and George Carey made so clear in their assertion that the Declaration was a “Derailment of the Constitution,” as George Carey explained in his compiling of Kendall’s “thought,” into a book, with his own political thought making up the completion of it, as can be seen in the attached files below. But no longer is it a “Black Day,” with Trump on the verge of POTUS again, so that Goebbels can be paraphrased from what he said of 1789: "with the Conservative revolution 'the Declaration of Independence has been expunged from the records of history.'”

Title: Conservative Behind Trump Agenda Issues Cryptic Threat to Liberals | The New Republic

Echoing the SC, but on the State Department: "The American people need and deserve a diplomatic machine fully focused on the national interest as defined through the election of a President who sets the domestic and international agenda for the nation. The next Administration must take swift and decisive steps to reforge the department into a lean and functional diplomatic machine that serves the President and, thereby, the American people. Below is the basic but essential roadmap for achieving these repairs."

And no one is paying “real” attention to this pending, total, Constitutional coup, except those promoting it! With Biden having done so much to make it appear necessary and called for, and as if things can’t get any worse. Famous last words of non-Nazi, but “right-wing German fascists,” in 1932!

Conservative Behind Trump Agenda Issues Cryptic Threat to Liberals

The president of the Heritage Foundation, the right-wing think tank behind the “Project 2025” agenda, seems to be warning the left on what comes next.

Dear Foundation - So, to translate, "As long as the left gives us everything we want (which includes no recreational sex), we won't use guns & violence." This from the party that stormed the Capitol & put up a noose to hang the Vice President. x.com/Heritage/statu

@brainnotonyet This is literally a far right coup and the far right is telling you they are going to continue and if we try to stop them they will resort to open violence. This is cartoonish and people need to push these fascist to fuck around before the election. Bring the hurt to them.

What Roberts means by “bloodless” is unclear, but critics immediately interpreted it as a threat that any resistance to the authoritarian far-right power grab laid out by Project 2025 would be met with violence.
